BUG REPORT!!! Pre-selected modifiers on Restaurants POS

** Updated 5/11/25 -- The fix for this bug in Restaurants POS was released.  Everything is great, now.  Thanks!

I just updated Restaurants POS (including SuperPOS).... now NONE OF THE PRE_SELECTED MODIFIERS work!!! Which means all of my signature sundaes are not pricing or going to the kitchen KDS correctly.  I tried to edit them and add back those pre-selected modifiers and can not because it won't let me add them, either.

 

The ONLY thing that works is to build my signature sundaes from scratch, which means breaking out a menu like it's 1980 and keying each one it.  It's slow, but at least I'm not losing money on each one I sell.  

 

Moderators who see this can you get the development team working on a fix???  I'm not looking forward to a busy weekend this way.

One more thing.... I am NOT currently in the modifier quantity beta, which still has a problem with pre-selected modifiers the last time I checked.  Or, at least, I said not to turn that on for my account, so I hope it wasn't turned on by mistake.  LOL

Lastly, I just reported this to Support.  A ticket has been opened with the team and they have the video.  If someone could update me here once something is known, I'd greatly appreciate it.  Now to get back to the business of selling ice cream!!

Thank you so much for sharing, reporting and providing a video. That’s exactly the kind of thorough reporting our eng team needs to make quick work for a fix. I really think the lack of thorough reporting can cause back and forth, and ultimately more delays.

 

I flagged the issue as an 🆘 in our moderator slack channel, to see if I can get any further insight. I’ll keep an eye on the thread, and please feel free to share updates as you receive them from support (I’m assuming they opened an email case?)….

@isabelle @Summer2024 Thanks for the attention to this.  While it might be related to the beta, since I haven't been enabled in that beta, it would be odd for it to affect me.  Still, I know enough to know that anything is possible, eh?

 

@isabelle  I assume that support opened an email case.  He was typing furiously, looked up my thread here in the Community to retrieve the video, etc.  But I never received an email, oddly.  And I did check my junk box, just in case.  I did, however, receive a text asking me if my Square support issue was resolved.  🤔 Obviously, I'm not replying to that currently.

@Summer2024 A quick update with some more information to pass on that might or might not help.  This morning, I switched to the standard POS mode on my SuperPOS (or whatever you are calling it these days).  In that mode, the pre-selected modifiers work as they should.  So it seems that this bug is restricted to the Restaurants POS and the Restaurants mode in SuperPOS.

@TheRealChipA - this may be related to the beta because it was rolled out to 3k sellers on the 8th. I will keep an eye on this and try to update you tomorrow morning. I am glad you have the workaround though. Or else I’d be bothering people into the night🥱😂

@TheRealChipA - engineers have said that everything should be working as intended now, but that you may need to delete and reinstall the app to see changes but force quitting the app and going in again may do the trick. I am logging off until Tuesday morning for the rest of Mother's Day weekend, if you don't hear from me until then! However, if anything is an emergency, please ping me!
